How can kinesiologists help with posture?

Kinesiologists perform an assessment of the patient’s physical function, including their range of motion, muscle strength, and posture, to determine areas of weakness or imbalances. Patients will receive a custom exercise program to help them improve physical function and reduce pain and injury.

Poor posture can be caused by a number of factors, including muscle imbalances, tightness in certain muscle groups, and weakness in others. By understanding how the muscles in the body work together to support proper posture, kinesiologists can design exercise and stretching programs to target specific muscle groups and help correct imbalances.

Also, poor posture can contribute to back pain and neck pain. When the spine and other joints are not properly aligned, it can place increased stress and strain on the muscles, ligaments, and discs in the back and neck, leading to pain and discomfort, as well as injuries.

At Kenzie Wellness Centre, our kinesiologists monitor each patient’s progress over time and make adjustments to their exercise programs as needed to help them reach their goals.
