Spinal Decompression

If you are suffering from acute or chronic low back pain and/or leg pain, spinal decompression therapy may be able to help with your symptoms. Spinal Decompression therapy is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that we have been using in our office since 2008.

Spinal Decompression therapy is a type of traction therapy applied to the spine to bring about the following benefits:

  1. Create a negative intradiscal pressure to promote retraction or repositioning of the herniated or bulging disc material.
  2. creating a pressure in the disc that will cause an influx of healing nutrients and other substances into the disc.

The patient will lie down on the table of the spinal decompression machine that gently stretches the spine. This treatment helps the flow of oxygen, nutrients, and moisture back. While not everyone is a candidate for this treatment, our Chiropractor will make a recommendation based on the patient’s medical history, current health condition, and other factors. There are many treatment options and at-home remedies that our expert doctors and practitioners can help you with.

Spinal Decompression therapy sessions are generally no more than 30 minutes in duration. Results seem to correlate with patients sticking to their scheduled visits.

Often people ask whether decompression therapy is painful, actually, it is the opposite. It is painless and often patients will fall asleep during their session.

The Following are conditions that may benefit from spinal Decompression therapy:

-Herniated Discs

-Bulging Discs

-Low back pain and joint pain
